Amish Buttermilk Biscuits
Servings: 10

You’ll love how easy these Amish Buttermilk Biscuits are. They come together in less than 30 minutes!

2 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
4 tablespoons shortening
1 cup buttermilk

Cooking Method

Combine the dry ingredients together in a bowl.

Mix in the shortening until the mixture is crumbly.

Add the buttermilk and mix just until combined.

The dough will be sticky.

Turn out the dough on a floured surface.

Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness.

Use a biscuit cutter to cut about 10 biscuits, rerolling the dough as needed.

Place biscuit on a greased baking sheet.

Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes.
