Chess pie is one of my favorite pies but the
traditional pie made with vinegar just didn't work out for this recipe.
I changed the vinegar for fresh lemon juice and I think it really gave my
pie a great taste. I think you will agree.
1½ cups sugar
1 stick butter
2 tablespoons cornmeal
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
3 tablespoons whole milk, evaporated
2 teaspoon vanilla
Unbaked Pie Shell
Cream Sugar and Butter.
Mix in all remaining ingredients.
Pour into pie shell.
Bake in at 375° on the bottom rack of the oven for 15 minutes; reduce
heat to 350° and bake 20 minutes longer.
