Granny's Pie Crust

Pie Crust


This is My Grandmother's Recipe.



2 cups flour, sifted
teaspoons salt
cup shortening, Crisco
cup milk, cold
2 teaspoons sugar
1 egg yolk

Cooking Method

Sift together flour, sugar, and salt. 

  1. Blend the shortening and the flour mixture with a pastry blender. 

  2. Blend together the egg yolk and milk. 

  3. Using a fork, beat the egg yolk and milk; add mixture to flour mixture. 

  4. Mix just to handling stage. 

  5. Divide and place between two sheets of floured waxed paper and roll.
