Organic BBQ Chicken Halves

with Italian Dressing and BBQ Seasonings

Chicken

 

All ingredients are to be organic or Natural.

 

Ingredients


1 chicken, halved lengthwise

¾ cup Italian dressing, ingredients & recipe follows

1 tablespoon ground mustard

1 garlic clove, smashed

1½ teaspoons crushed red pepper

¼ teaspoon dried basil

¼ teaspoon dried oregano

1½ teaspoons raw sugar

1 tablespoon BBQ seasoning

2½ tablespoons red wine vinegar

½ cup canola oil

Salt and pepper

2 tablespoons BBQ seasoning, ingredients & recipe follows

6 tablespoon paprika

3 tablespoon raw sugar

1 tablespoon onion powder

½ cup BBQ sauce, ingredients & recipe follows

1 cup ketchup

½ cup water

¼ cup apple cider vinegar

3 tablespoons brown sugar

3 tablespoons raw sugar

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon ground mustard

1½ teaspoons lemon juice

1½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce 

Cooking Method


Directions for BBQ Chicken Halves:

 

Rinse Chicken halves in cold water and pat dry with paper towels

  1. Place chicken in a large bowl or baking dish, coat with Italian dressing and evenly season with BBQ seasoning.

  2. Allow the chicken to marinate couple of hours to overnight

Take the chicken out of the refrigerator and brush chicken with BBQ sauce.

Place into a preheated 350°F oven for 45 minutes.

Directions for Italian Dressing:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl, except the oil, salt and pepper. 

  2. Slowly whisk in the oil and season with salt and pepper, to taste.

Direction for BBQ Seasoning:

 

Add all ingredients to a bowl and stir combined. 

  • Keep in airtight container for up to 6 months.

Directions for BBQ Sauce:

  1. In a saucepan, combine all ingredients. 

  2. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer. 

  3. Cook uncovered, stirring frequently, for 1¼ hours.
