Refrigerator Rolls

Refrigerator Rolls




2-ounce packages dry yeast
2 cups water
cup sugar
2 teaspoons salt
6 cups flour, divided
1 egg
cup solid shortening

Cooking Method

Dissolve yeast in water

  1. Add sugar, salt and cup flour to yeast. 

  2. Beat 2 minutes. 

  3. Add egg and shortening. 

  4. Gradually add remaining flour until smooth. 

  5. Cover with a damp cloth and refrigerate 3 hours to overnight. 

  6. Pat down occasionally. 

Take out 2 hours before baking

  1. Make into desired shape. 

  2. Place in greased pan and let rise for 1 hours. 

  3. Bake at 400 until golden brown, 12 to 15 minutes.
