This slaw is a great by itself and it's also an excellent side for Barbecue's or just plain old together.  You should keep it around for more than a day when you make it because it is delicious! 



head green cabbage, shredded
head red cabbage, shredded
2 carrot, grated
1 red onion, minced
1 green bell pepper, minced
1 red bell pepper, minced



1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
teaspoon dry mustard
teaspoon celery seed
1 cup white vinegar
cup vegetable oil

Cooking Method

Combine first six ingredients in a large bowl and toss until well mixed.

  • Set aside.

Put sugar and vinegar in a pot and heat until sugar dissolves. 

  1. Add remaining ingredients

  2. Mix well.

  3. Pour over cabbage mixture, blend well and serve.
